Ha, I go "phht" at this "study". Looks to me like it's mostly a disguised
advert for "Philtro", and heavily weighted toward concluding that "ZOMG
twitter needs filtering!!11!".
The "pointless babble" category is basically everything else, after
eliminating:
- Stuff that might appear on CNN or Fox
- Spam
- More spam ("self-promotion")
- Obvious back-and-forth conversations, and
- Things with "RT" in them
Which is to say, the sort of stuff that Twitter was basically *designed
for* (letting your friends know what you are doing right now) is labelled
"pointless babble". Lovely methodology, guys...
