Scoping URL params with attributes

It seems as if I have to scope my URL params when passing them like so:

index.cfm?attributes.fuseaction=doThisAction

I remember before I did not have to do that, I could just do:

index.cfm?fuseaction=doThisAction

What am I missing ?! Thanks.
