That definately be true.

Ya see, the real power in stored procs isn't in a "SELECT * from Squid"
statement, its in the ability to do complex processing on the SQL side, thus
relieving your webserver of work. You can build complex functions in SQL
using conditional processing, and have multiple results returned to the
requestor (that be the CFAS). 

Its part of the Dilbertesque "Three Tiered Architeture" stuff... client -
webserver - database. Spread the workload between the webserver and
database, integrate business logic into the database. etc... Also, if you
integrate business logic into the database, you can keep other users who
attach to the database with tools such as Crystal Reports or MS Access in
line. There are lots of bennies in using stored procs, speed is just one of
them...
