I really wish I knew the specifics of the way the CFAS works. I don't know
much C++, so I probably wouldn't understand it.
I have heard Ben's recommendations for not putting plain HTML inside
cfoutput, but all I know is what I've discovered myself, and that's that
cfoutput-wrapping an entire page makes more sense overall than carefully
wrapping individual elements. The execution times are not decisive for
either scenario, and it is just plain easier to code when you know that
every body page is already wrapped in cfoutput. In fact, it was somewhat of
a standard practice to do it that way, in my old job.
I'm not at all sure about the cached thing. The tests I ran were with
trusted cache off.
Someone else really should test this, and describe their tests completely.
Don't just run a cfloop 1000 times and call it good. Take a real, production
page and try it both ways.

Hi Nat,
I was wondering about this, after the talk that Ben Forta gave at the
conference in DC this past summer about optimize CF server where he
recommended not over-using <CFOUTPUT> because if forces CFAP to parse every
single line.
I was wondering if <CFOUTPUT> really matters at all once the page is put
into p-code in cached memory. If the parsing is only done once at cache
time, it probably does not matter at all.
Any thoughts on this?
