I appreciate your post, Tom. I think you're right on the money about ASP.
All those books aren't about how to build great apps--just how to understand
the damned thing!

Hal,

I am one of the ones that received this file from Chris. I wasn't expecting
a 3 meg file by email when I asked him for it. Chris said he didn't know
how to just send the one article from the magazine. I did and it took all
of three minutes to do. Wasn't thinking at the time though, you are right,
it was wrong.

Last spring I just discovered this magazine at a bookstore on one my trips
to Atlanta. In June I got my local bookstore here in east TN to carry it. I
have been wondering why when you walk into a bookstore you'll find 5000
books on ASP for every one of CF. I have come to two conclusions:

1. It takes that many books to understand it.

2. CF developers are too busy earning money from writing application to be
worried about writing a book.

As a beginner CF'er, I really appreciate you and everyone else that does
take the time to write these articles. I have bought all the CF books that
I know exist, five of 'em and patiently waiting for book number six, the
Fusebox book.
