Here is my two cents.

If you have a problem with all the emails that don't contain what you want,
just delete the emails, you can see what they are about in the subject
fields. I receive over a 10 emails a day, and I try to read all my emails,
but I am also glad for fusebox having an archive, because now I can go there
for a question to see if it has already been answered. But I do end up
deleting about 90% of my emails, only because a 100 emails a day, and to
keep all of them would be a monstrous task to go through when I had a
question, but archives help you seek out your answer if it is there, and
then you don't have to worry about keeping every single email or even
reading them:)

Just have fun, and enjoy this forum. The lighter side of it is necessary, if
you had no lighter side it would be like talking to a bunch of robots, and
getting no human response. Which is why we are here, right, to get a human
response.

Chris, I have dozens of rules to cut the true crap out of my inbox, and
they still fail much of the time. I can't spend the time to go setting
up filters for every irrelevant thread on a list I want to receive posts
from.

That said, I have an additional problem. Here at home, I can sort
messages by subject and thus, skip over entire threads, or drill into
the ones I like. However, at work, I'm forced to use Lotus Notes, where
sorting by subject is not possible. It takes me ten times longer to get
through my mail at work, due to this limitation of Notes. When
irrelevant posts are made to threads I want to monitor, it just takes me
longer to get through them.

My request to this and other CF-lists is that, if you want to make a
purely personal remark, please try to send it just to the person you're
addressing. Not a popular take on this, I'm sure, but it would be nice
if we could be considerate of people with crappy tools like Notes.

Regards,
John Allred
