Sometimes, when we're burried, we ask our
graphic designer to implement an HTML shell
from his design comps.
He does not really know HTML, so hand-coding
is out of the question. I've found that I
can sit down with him, draw lines over his
comp, and tell him to "slice it up" that way.
Using Dreamweaver, the display code is pretty
nice, so little work is required to modify it.
If he were to use something like NetOjects, I
would kill him on the spot. But Dreamweaver
makes nice HTML.
So in the very least, a designer could implement
the headers and footers. Regarding DSP_ files,
those could be created independently of the
main site. If I were to dish off this task
to my designer, I'd definately have him create
individual files for all major DSP_ files I
needed. This might even make it easier for
a prototype to evolve into the finished product.
