- Firstly target the publication you want to be published in.
- Get on the phone! Call the editor (these people build relationships by
talking to people, do not just send an e-mail)
Take an angle, perhaps something like how successful the book sales have
been (give numbers), this will give a lead and a platform for them to ask
about the technology and what fusebox is trying to achieve. Focus on what it
means to their readership audience, if it means nothing then you are talking
to the wrong people.
- Ask the editor if you can send an 'exclusive' press release. Yes this
means you don't send it to anyone else. The target mag is more likely to run
the article if they can exclusivity > hence point one, pick the target
wisely. CF Journal will always run fusebox stuff so think outside the
square. Perhaps a business or marketing mag?
- send the release and say you will follow up with a phone call, they can
ask you any specific questions.
