Adding my own two pennyworth (being English):
I have found in the past on our NT4 SP6a machine running CF4.51 that the
UUID function produces results that are only one different from the previous
one.
It's not a big issue as long as no one sees in the database (as far as I'm
concerned). I am the only one that knows this about the UUID on the site.
However, I did resort to running the function through around 20 times before
I used the value created. I didn't notice even a small increase in
processing time, so if you're worried, just put a loop from 5 to Rand(20) or
something like that and run the function inside the loop. Whatever the last
number, use that.
