hi,

Drumbeat didn't dissapear... it became Ultradev, which is by FAR a better
product. These guys aren't idiots. They didn't build their small software
companies into giants by making idiot descision. I am sure Macromedia
wouldn't merge with Allaire, dropping 360 million+, to kill CF. They have
nothing to gain as their goal was to support CF through Ultradev.

I dunno... seems slightly scary to me. Macromedia's interests are not always
the same as those of the developers they acquire... Drumbeat sure
disappeared rapidly. If all Macromedia wants is access to JRun, CF5 (at the
least) could be in jeopardy.

I'm going to need to hear some very positive noises from Allaire and
Macromedia before I'm at all comfortable with this turn of events.
