Shane,
I just recently setup VSS for myself and another developer for the
application we support. To answer your questions: The red dot shows
which files are Read-Only, in this case not checked out. Checked out
files are indicated with a green check mark. Unfortunately, it only
seems to show a check mark for the files you have checked out, not the
ones others have checked out. :( VSS won't let you check out one that's
already checked out (assuming default configuration) but it would be nice
if it was more apparent. (This could be different if the developers are
sharing a dev directory.) Yes, you can right click check out and check in.
I had no trouble integrating VSS into my project file but we were unable to
integrate VSS with my co-worker's project, I'm using CF Studio 4.5.1 and
she's using 4.5a. It will map but none of the right click functions are
available. I recall hearing a rumor that projects in general are broken in
4.5.2.
If you have any other questions feel free to contact me off list (or on if
others are interested.)

Subject: OT: MS Visual Soure Save
This is OT but does anyone have any information on the integration of
SourceSave in the CF Studio IDE ? I remember reading about it but it seems
that the "integration" is limited to showing me files that are already
checked out (indicated with a red dot). I thought I remembered reading that
you could right-click check out the files from within CF Studio but the help
files make no reference. Can anyone shed some light on that?"
