bek,

Your message is confusing. I am trying to figure out if you are actually
asking for help with a problem or just on a frustrated rant. It almost
appears that you are replying to some other message, but I don't see one
quoted in your message...

Your subject line states that you are having a problem with 100% CPU
utilization... If that is your problem, you might want to check your
cfusion/mail/spool dirctory for a zero legth file. If one's in there,
that's what's killing your server.

In the body of your message you suggest that you believe there is a "memory
leak" in the Netscape DLLs. Although in my experience, this DOES NOT cause
100% CPU usage, there is a small bug in the way CF handles the external dll
calls for CFMAIL messages which use an invalid domain name for the SMTP mail
server. This ONLY happens when an invalid domain is entered for the SMTP
server, and the result is not actually a memory leak, but a "handle leak"
and should not cause RAM to be consumed in mass quantities. This bug
manifests itself particularly bad if you are using
CF_ResendUndeliverableMail to copy a few hundred failed messages back into
the spool every 15 minutes.

AFAIK, both of these bugs have been fixed for CF5, and careful usage of
CFMAIL should virtually eliminate the problems listed above.

Your message also mentions a few other random problems you are having such
as the "Donteverusethisvariablecfmlerrorblahblahblah" problem. If you need
help with those problems, you might want to give a little more
information...

So, are you in fact asking for help? If so, did my message help you out at
all? If not, posting more specific information about your problem may be in
order.
