I'm not anti-MS. My problem with them is that thier marketing group seems
to drive the release schedules instead of releasing when the software is
done.
MS had some excellent products in thier past. MS DOS 5.0 still personally
rates as the best non-Unix OS I have used. Also, the early Mac versions of
MS Excel and Word were far superior to anything else available on either a
PC or a Mac at that time.
But now thier innovations seem to come out messed up and the marketing
machine responds "It's a feature, not a bug." When Win 2K was still in
beta, I got that exact response from an MS employee with an MCSE during a
failed test install.
It turns out he worked for the marketing department. I did get a straight
story from a technical guy who was with him.
