Well, that's what this list is for, right? To talk and share ideas....

Anyway, my philosophy is I use whatever I see fit to get the job done.
If Microsoft makes the product I need, so be it. I think everybody just
doesn't like the big, powerful company controlling almost the entire
market. Get a life. I will also say that we use quite a bit of Perl in
what we do because honestly, Perl is much, much better at some things
than CF. Complex file manipulations, traversing directories and even
queries are just a few.

If memory serves, Microsoft aquired some sites to add to
it's MSN network.  Sites like submit-it.com.  Those sites
where developed in CF, so that's when I saw .cfm files on
a microsoft site.  I'm sure this is what people have seen.
