I have always just stuck with good ol dsp as in dsp_Layout or
dsp_DefaultLayout, I do like the idea of a lay_ ;-)
I also think that there should be a fbx_DefaultLayout and below code as part
of the standard. The fbx_defaultLayout only contains
<cfoutput>#fusebox.layout#</cfoutput>.
This would help make nesting circuits work a little smoother out of the box.
I hear this a bunch on the list.
EX:
<cfif fusebox.IsHomeCircuit>
<cfset fusebox.layoutFile = "dsp_FancyLayout.cfm">
<cfset fusebox.layoutDir = "">
<cfelse>
<cfset fusebox.layoutFile = "fbx_DefaultLayout.cfm">
<cfset fusebox.layoutDir = "">
</cfif>

A layout file is used to display the content generated ny the cf_bodycontent
custom tag, or in fb3 the fbx_layout file is used to do conditional logic to
choose what layout file to use.
Say you have an application, On the top level display page you want to have
certain graphics and navigation bar and such, well you have a sub level that
you want to use different nav bars and graphics for. You put these in
layout files and then you can call them with conditional logic, and output
the request.bodycontent variable (the content generated in your main fusebox
switch case) wherever you want it to be placed in the layout.
I'm sorry that's not a very good description.
Anyone else?

Do we have a naming convention for layout files? If not, I suggest the
prefix "lay".
