This would be true if the connection is maintained. It is not likely access users will
use the program without maintaining a connection.

I'm by no means authoritative, but I recall that when Access connects,
it has some impact on the SQL Server. Not meant as a discouragement,
but not worth investigating.

If you are using a sql server you can connect to from the machines that
need to run the report... try using Access just as the reporting engine.
If you are worried about needing a bunch of liscences... get the run
time. Contact me if you have other questions. I prefer the web for data
entry and networking. Yet, for creating big reports... it is amazing!

Does anybody know a good reporting app. which would allow to output up
to 500 pages report, handle complicated database structure and parent -
child relationships?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Sorry I am a little off topic.
