I have found a problem with Crystal reports and complicated queries. If there are numerous joins it doens't get the recordset accurately. I found it didn't sort recordset properly. But what I did to overcome this was to create a view in SQL server and use that. Then SQL Server is creating and parsing the complicated joins and Crystal just needs to do maybe a select or a sort. This was using Crystal 7. Linda

I'm not using the CF built in tag for the CR reports since it is very limited. To "really" use CR to generate some cool reports you need to dip into the pit of evil, ASP, to get things to fly right. CR uses ASP to generate it dynamic reports and then loads them up in either a Java or ActiveX viewer on the client. The client can then jump to a certain page, print out a certain page, print the report as designed or export the report in a variety of formats including PDF.
