I think mySQL will really start taking off when they add features like relationship integrity, procs and triggers into it. I know procs are scheduled for version 4.1 or 4.2, and I would hope triggers are not far behind. In general I find mySQL to be very easy to work with. I just wish I could use it here for production ;p
And if you have an interface like phpMyAdmin it only gets easier. I do alot of my development using a mySQL db on my dev computer and then change the qry_ files when I move to testing/production for whatever db I am going to be using (Oracle, Sybase and Access are the three I may use in a production environment). Cheers, Keith. >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 04/15/02 09:25am >>> Also msAccess only allows 5 logins @ the same time. So conversion is a must if you write larger apps...be it to msSQL or MySQL. NASA went from Oracle to MySQL last year...gee what a confidence :) Roeligan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Neil Clark - =TMM=" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, April 15, 2002 11:48 AM Subject: RE: Fusebox and MySQL > I also like DBTOOLS www.dbtools.com.br > > There is also a nice PHP interface for online admin... > http://www.htmlwizard.net/phpMyAdmin/ > > These are all good mySQL tools, I also have found it to be very stable & > have moved 60% to the platform from SQL Server. > > Neil > > Team Macromedia Spectra > http://www.macromedia.com/go/team > > ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [email protected] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?bUrFMa.bV0Kx9 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
