I mentioned the cell alignment problem in a bug report on the sourceforge site, and
Toby graciously wrote back to say he's looking into it (it only appears to be a
problem in 4.x Netscape, but of course that's what all my users are using :).

As a short-term workaround, I'm using a spacer gif to force the field width of the
'name' col, which seems to work as long as you also set the width of the 'message' col
as well (of course, this means we're back to fixed-width tables, but Netscape doesn't
seem to want to play nice otherwise).

Another alternative would be to get rid of the inner table surrounding the individual
messages, but then you'd lose the border around the messages (I'm also playing around
with an indent routine for staggering reply messages (based on the 'original' DevNotes
routine--thanks Hal!) that needs to have differing widths in the first cell).

Sorry to be so long and OT, but I'm in a sharing mood today :).

Thanks, Patrick. It *is* a great little app and I was also facing quite a
bit of tweaking due to pathing issues, but I think Toby resolved those in
the version 1.0 release. At least I now have it working on both my local
machine and remote site (couldn't get it working on the remote site before
version 1). And in this latest version a user doesn't need to be logged in
to read messages. I'm just messing around with color theme issues on it
right now and looking for testers. Later, I want to work on fixing the
display on the view thread page so that the table cells line up properly.
Anyway, if anyone wants to give it a spin, it's at
http://www.stoneridgehoa.org/forum/ (not linked into the main site yet).

Cheers and thanks for all the great feedback,
