Subject: RE: The Polls are OpenShawn this was announced and hashed out a long time ago. With all the bills for hosting and conferences and stuff, money became a necessity. You don't have to donate anything to use FB. You only have to donate something if you want to vote, or actually be on the boards. Also there is really no minimum donation as far as I can tell. I mean we have even had people donate in members names who either couldn't afford to throw $20 bucks in the fund, or who were in countries that they couldn't pay from.I am not sure if you are reasonably new or what but seriously this is in the best interests of everyone involved in FB.Tim Heald

Subject: RE: The Polls are OpenI a regular member. But to vote you have to be a Official member? You are forcing people to pay to become a member of an organized method and these are the only members that can vote the people who pay?

Subject: The Polls are Open
The nominations are in for the official Fusebox steering committee, and the
polls are now open. Please set aside some time, and put some thought into your
voting. The Fusebox steering committee will be in charge of the official Fusebox
specification. Any change requests to the specification will go through this
committee.Here's how the voting works:
- Only members can vote, you can sign up to be a member at
http://www.fusebox.org.
- There are 13 spots on the steering committee up for grabs
- Each voter votes for 13 people, ranking their top choice number 1, and their
bottom choice number 13
- You can only vote once, so spend some time reviewing the nominees before you
vote.
- Voting will be open all week. The polls will close next monday, votes will be
tallied, and results released.
- The 13 seats will be offered to the 13 nominees with the highest cumulative
votes. That means 13 bottom choice votes (ie 13) are worth the same as a single
top choice vote (ie 1).
- If an elected person declines the seat on the committee, the next runner up
will be offered the spot. This will continue until all 13 seats are filled.Good luck to the nominees, and let the voting begin! Go to
http://www.fusebox.org log in as an official fusebox member, and follow the
links on the home page.Steve Nelson
