I use FuseDocs in all of my projects - no matter the size.   Is it overkill for small projects - yes - but they are immensely helpful when I need to come back and update the project or attempt to reuse it.    I have used Visual Mind before and you can document everything there, but if you are going to do the documentation there, why not transfer it over to FuseDocs where it will always be with the code for future reference?

I have spent years coding (long time c++ before moving to the web) and I hated documentation.   I definitely fit the model of coding first and then going back and throwing in trivial comments later.   What happened when I went back to my code months or even days later?   I did not have a clue what was going on.   FuseBox helps out with that by breaking code down into small chunks which are much easier to figure out - but FuseDocs makes it even easier to figure out what is going on later on down the road.

If you are developing with a team, there is no question as to whether or not to use FuseDocs.   I don't know how you could get everybody to design various fuses and then expect them to come back together and work without a FuseDoc specification.

As much as I used to hate doing documentation, I could not see doing an app today without using FuseDocs.   If nothing else, you should be thanking me for using them because you may be the one having to update on of my applications someday! ;-)

Subject: Who Uses Fusedocs?

I would like to raise an heretical issue.  WHO USES FUSEDOCS?   At various user group meetings I have discussed the use of Fusebox.  Everyone seems to be using the coding methodology by NO ONE is using FUSEDOCS!  The coders are structuring their code with Fusebox but not taking the time to use the design methods inherent in the development of FUSEDOCS.

This has certainly been true in the last two large Fusebox projects I have been involved in.  The developers do not want to spend 'coding time' developing Fusedocs and the managers have no interest in spending development time engaged in that level of planning detail.

How are various developers planning their sites if they are not using FUSEDOCS?
