I believe the final vote a week ago or so was that there was not a good way to index/search a fusebox site (which seems like a major problem). Here were the options though ...
- Use Verity Spider (only works for localhost which means index your site locally and then upload the collection) - Use dynamic content (i.e. store all content in db) and then index using standard cfindex tags If you come up with a better solution, I would love to hear it. At this point, I am trying to go with number 2 because I wanted to be able to have my search work in real-time without having to index it locally every time I added content. Maybe one of these days I can afford a full version of Verity with a full version Spider. -- Jeff -----Original Message----- From: Gavin Lilley [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, June 12, 2002 10:48 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Searching fusbox 3 Im developing a fusebox 3 intranet on CF4.5Pro with an Access database. I have read a lot about searching techniques but Im quite confused about what is best. Should I make my site SES and use Verity or should I write some sort of custom software? Out of all those on the list who have search facilities, what is good/bad about the way you have implemented the search? -- Gavin Lilley, Internet / Intranet Developer Halesowen College http://halesowen.ac.uk ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [email protected] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?bUrFMa.bV0Kx9 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
