All: Does anyone have an example of a rule that could be used to force a variable to fit onto one line? Or, to generalize, to a specified number of lines?
We often print a personalized URL in between a lot of surrounding copy. The URL is usually set off as its own paragraph, and is highlighted with color and font. We want it to fit on a single line. We don't want to copyfit the entire text container because the container may contain a mix of fonts and sizes, and the results may not look attractive. We have used character-counting rules to change the font size for the PURL, but these rules are awkward to set up and don't handle extremely long names very well. It would be nice if we had a rule, or a function, that could take a variable and copyfit it to a specified number of lines. I expect this could be done, but am not really sure how to approach this. (Of course, a paragraph attribute that said "Fit to x lines" would be even better, but I will settle for a rule for now...)
