No problem. Some of this is an issue of semantics. I wrote, "No, word
spacing cannot be adjusted except as a global setting in the job."
That's true of the GUI settings in the Text Editor and related dialogs.
However, if you use tagging and JavaScript rules, you can often do a lot
more than what can be done in the GUI. So like a lot of things, it's
not quite an absolute Yes or No question. (And I did follow up that
statement with "However" in my original post as well.) Also, I'm not
sure that manually adjusting the size of space characters, or replacing
them with other characters via entities, technically qualifies as
adjusting word spacing. It's more of a workaround.

So as Obi-Wan said to Luke, "What I told you was true...from a certain
point of view." I suppose that I should preface any statement about
functionality with "as far as I know," because sometimes users figure
out ways to use FusionPro that we haven't even thought of.

This reminds me a bit of when we released the Tab Stop Editor, and a lot
of people said things like "Now you can finally set your tab stops in
FusionPro!" Well, you were always able to set tab stops with tags, but
we just didn't offer a way to do it in the GUI.

We're always looking for bottlenecks in the user interface and workflow,
or places where FusionPro can be enhanced so that some kind of common
task that people do in JavaScript can be done in a GUI of some kind.
(The "Skip if containing empty variables" paragraph setting comes to
mind.) Similarly, we try to look for ways to expose advanced options
through JavaScript, especially when a task, or all of its possible
options, is too complex for a dialog. Sometimes, ideas or workarounds
that users think up even make it into the product as official features.
So please continue to post any ideas or questions to the forum.

Thanks,
Dan
