Mike,

There are four total parts to the PostNet barcode:
 - ZIP+4 (you have)
 - Delivery Point (you need)
 - Check Code/Digit (you need)
- Frame Code (basically a "!" at both ends wrapping it and FP's built-in rule probably creates this part. but I've never used the built-in method)

You have the ZIP+4 and the "!" is easy enough to add with custom rule. Something like:
return "!" + Field("ZIP+4") + "!";

Here's a couple links I Googled that should help:
http://www.neodynamic.com/barcodes/POSTNET_Barcode.aspx
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/POSTNET

And make sure your font size is 12 pt. The USPS has pretty strict standards, 20 to 24 bars per inch.

I'm sure someone else can add to all this...

HTH,
Ryan

Here's my problem:

Customer gives me an Excel file with zip+4 zipcodes. When I use the
FusionPro built-in rule to print a PostNet barcode using the font
"AdvPNET" which is included with FusionPro Desktop the program generates a 52 character barcode and not the 62 character barcode that should result.

What am I missing? Are there codes that should be generated from Excel
when the file is saved as a tab delimited .txt file?

Please offer some guidance so I can generate a real barcode. Thanks in
advance to anyone who can offer suggestions.

Mike
