This should do it -- put your old pdf, def and dif files in an old folder.
Make your new pdf without any fusion labels or placeholders.
Select Data Definition Wizard from your new pdf and
select  "Import a data source from another document" and choose the old
def file.
(That will copy any rules, resources, etc. from your old setup)
Then from Fusion Pro menu, choose Advanced>Import.
Import your variable layout from the old pdf.
All your fusion boxes will come in in the same positions.
