Well then, that's an issue with Excel and how it exports to the tab- delimited format, possibly something peculiar about your document. I'm not sure what can be done about that from FusionPro's point of view, even if I could reproduce the problem. The end-of-line signifies the end of a record; that's a fundamental aspect of delimited files.

Excel may be the World's Most Popular Database (TM), but it's notoriously imperfect for that use, especially if you're trying to use it to format the data, a task which is incompatible with the concept of a tab-delimited file (thus Excel's warning that formatting will be lost when exporting to that format). You might try creating a VBA macro in Excel to work around the issue and export a valid tab- delimited file, without extra newlines. Or try asking around in an Excel-related forum.

If you can't get a valid tab-delimited file out of Excel, the one thing you could try in FusionPro is using ODBC input with the Excel driver to read the Excel document directly, but I'm not sure how the driver would handle the formatting in Excel. And ODBC is only supported on Windows currently. (We are considering ODBC support for Mac as well, although it's not clear how much demand there is for that.)

In general, FusionPro does not accept any kind of "rich" or formatted text as input. You can use either plain text with delimiters or text marked up with FusionPro tags (or ODBC on Windows) for your main input file. If you want to set formatting in a GUI, WYSIWYG type of environment, you can create a Formatted Text Resource and set whatever styles you like in the Text Editor dialog.
