I think this question would be more appropriate for the web-to-print
forum than for this one.  Remember that JavaScript rules in your job are
run at composition time, on a server somewhere that's a completely
different machine than where your web browser is running.  Even if there
was an "alert" function available, it wouldn't know how to show that on
the client side.

In fact, you're seeing the rule name in the output because you're
getting an error due to the "alert" function being undefined.  Run the
composition locally in FusionPro Desktop or Designer and I'll bet you
will see a message to this effect in the log (.msg) file.  You should
have seen this error when you clicked "OK" or "Validate" in the Rule
Editor as well.

Again, if you want to make something happen on a web page, that's a
question for the web-to-print forum.
