Hello,
I went to the "How to use Copyfitting in FusionPro" pdf located in the
Printable knowledge base to learn more about how to use the CopyFitLine
rule. It was sort of helpful, but I'm still unable to apply the rule.
Although the pdf gives the function for the rule it does not tell you
how to insert the rule. The pdf also refers to a file named
Lesson4-BizCard.pdf? I tried to search for this template within the
knowledge base and was unable to find it. I was also unable to find the
"Copyfit tutorial folder" and "CopyfitEmail.js" which are also
referenced in the pdf and are not installed in my building blocks. I was
unsure exactly how to apply the below function or if I have created the
function incorrectly. The "How to use Copyfitting in FusionPro" pdf sort
of assumes that you know a lot about it and seems to not supply all of
the steps needed for a beginner to utilize this function. I was hoping
that someone had some suggestions that might get me on the right track.
FYI, I need to copyfit ONLY the line of text within the variable text
frame that contains the email address. I want to copyfit the complete
email address not just the domain which is why I'm using the
CopyFitLine() rather than the CopyFitEmail(). Also, the size of my text
before the copyfitting is applied is 9pt. The smallest I want the text
to reduce to is 6.5pt. The width of the frame is 125pt. I want the text
point size to reduce, however I do NOT want to stretch the width.
In my FusionPro template I tried to apply the following rule so that I
could copyfit the line of text that contains the email address:
return CopyfitLine("", Field("Email"), <f name="WFM-ScalaSans-Bold">, 9,
125, 6.5, false);
I have tried to insert this Rule/function into the following:
1) New Rule - CallBack - OnCopyFit
2) New Rule - Text - Empty Rule (I tried both checking and unchecking
the box "Treat returned strings as tagged text")
3) Rule editor - Javascript Globals
None of the above worked? I keep getting error messages that say
"unexpected end of XML source" and it highlights the semicolon. When I
delete the semicolon I get a different error message.
It is evident that I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions for a
beginner would definitely be appreciated. Thanks!
