I have created a postcard VDP template where I want to upload various PDF's which will comprise the front of these postcards. The backside is, of course, the mailing side. We will also upload a tab delimited txt file/database, when placing our orders.
In the PrintOne, I have defined my postcard as a variable item. In my FusionPro template, I have set up all of my variable fields. The front of the postcard is made up of one big graphic frame which will obtain its "Front" according to a "MISC" field in the database. In the database, this field contains the filename of the PDF we want to swap in from card to card depending on the record being processed at that time. I have also include a text variable frame in the lower right corner (which is really just the record number). Under the "Options" settings in the Printable Manager, I have enabled the option "Attach a File To a Variable Order" which is under the "Item Form Page Settings", thinking that this needs to be enabled for us to be able to upload our variable front PDF's for each order. When we get through the order and preview it, our "Fronts" (PDF images that is...) are not showing up, however the text variable information which is also on that page is. What could I be doing wrong, I have to be missing something? Also, In the "Version This Product" (Client ordering perspective) page, the "Existing File:" (database) option is remembering all of our uploaded files? Is there anyway to manage this option, such as deleting previous databases, etc? I can invision this becoming one long confusing list of database options down the road otherwise. These database lists are one-time lists. Any help would be appreciated. Craig D.
