I believe Ernst Bloch was one of the great theorists of
(to cite the title of his masterwork:) _The Principle of Hope_.
I have recently come across a book of new essays building
on Bloch's work, which I have not yet read, but which I
have ordered and which looks interesting (e.g., it has an
essay connecting Bloch and Freire):
Not Yet : Reconsidering Ernst Bloch
by Jamie Owen Daniel (Editor), Tom Moylan (Editor)
Paperback - 304 pages (August 1997)
