I seem to remember years ago there was a
*country* Yugoslavia, and it was run by a man named
*Tito*, and rumor had it that that
it wasn't the worst place in the world
to live, that there was some cultural "life" and
not the worst *poverty*, and all the ethnics were at least
stewing in their own juices with lids on
their pots of ethnic/religious fanaticism, rather than pouring
scalding holy water (artillary shells...)
on their neighbors.... And, gosh, the
place even made Yugos... --which I thought
was a pretty good accomplishment for the region of
the world that had brought us Gavrilo Princip, and I
thought the world would be a better place with *more*
Titos in it -- not perfect, just less worse than many
parts of it were.

And I keep seeing on The History Channel that
cretin Reagan looking at the Berlin Wall, and
declaming: "Tear Down That Wall!", and I keep thinking
maybe things would be better today if that wall
had taken a few more years to be dismantled in a
more orderly fashion....

Etc....
