But a real-life cruise ship is not a democracy -- it's under the control of
the captain and crew. Everyone is happy as long as the passengers get all
the bread and circus they want (and it's not unlimited).
Unlike capitalism, I don't believe democracy is in our genes. How many of
us really give a damn about politics itself? Certainly not me!
I don't need democracy to be happy. I see the iceberg on my radar screen
and don't want my ship to ram it at full speed. I am only involved in
politics because our present captain and crew are insane.
