Chris,

That reminds me of the world's richest man in Vonnegut's Sirens of Titan.
He was sued for a damaging product by all the people that it hurt. I
believe it was tobacco. By the end of the book he was broke, broken and a
private in the army going into space. Could this be a premonition if the
rest of the world ever took revenge on European Americans because they
didn't listen to Mother Earth and caused havoc for everyone? Is that the
real reason the Republicans and GWB in particular want to cut the average
person's ability to sue for damages? What they are saying is that in
order to thrive they have to be raping, pillaging and polluting. That is
quite a recommendation for the superior success of European American capital
markets. Arthur do you really believe there is no evil in the world and
that pure self interest will rescue us all? And Harry, what do you think
about the Glaciers melting in the Alps? What about that big white mountain
in Africa that is now brown?
