Strange, but in my neck of the woods, politicians care a lot about
infrastructure, and indeed, even the smallest mountain village here has
a better infrastructure (e.g. sewage treatment plant) than e.g. Brussels.
Could this have to do with the absence of imperialist adventures for
centuries here, or perhaps is it due to evil protectionism that, as
you say, works against the interests of people ?
