Or maybe they've found out long ago already (before 1929, anyway) that the economy doesn't grow forever, but just until the next crash manufactured by those who profit the most from BOTH parts of the cycle! (Like, 1 speculator reaping $3 billion from the 2008 "crisis" alone.) How to avoid the next crash, then?
