The problem is how to get from here to there, now to then... One anticipates
a lot of turmoil or worse...

errr...at the risk of sounding cold, isn't that what we have technology for
- to do our work so we have more leisure time?

Perhaps we should be considering the 'future of work' instead of trying to
save historical work ideologies.

Fortunately, ICTs are spontaneously generating this future whether we like
it or not.  Once we raise our collective heads out of the sand, it should
become apparent that ICTs are creating a new paradigm that is both socially
and ecologically sustainable...if only we'd stop trying to prevent that, for
example, by thinking of education as work training.
