Ha. I have studiously sought to avoid all knowledge of the whole endless folly, as I did for the olympics, as I do for the annual fireworks displays. My social activities among the general populace are pretty much limited to appearances at the Commodore when a good jam band comes to town. Commuting from Ladner to UBC allows me to avoid most of Vancouver, and I rarely deviate from that course. Avoiding the media saturation of the extended hockey season is aided by somewhat better than marginal reception of NPR Seattle on radio in the car and at UBC.
