When you don't value the treasures carried within greatness you don't know who your ancestors were, what they thought, how they lived, what moved and created the soul that created you. Those were the questions my teachers demanded I face on a daily basis. Stone is cold but the life is carried by the music within the warm body of living virtuosity.

Economists have a sense of the arts, Ray, even if not a very good one. When I was a teenager back in the ice age, I dropped out of highschool to become the world's greatest artist. I even spent a year at an art school where I learned that my talent was minor compared to that of some of my classmates. What to do about it? Why go back to school and become an economist.
