There is a historical record of what happened with this before 1776. Why Beethoven was a hero and what happened here with Charles Ives who was filthy rich from his insurance business. Been here before. Have to teach it now to a new generation of graduate students.

I am saying this partially as a joke but thinking that there might be something to it. However the beneficence of the wealthy is unlikely to be evenly distributed or evenly felt in the art world, broadly defined. Easy to get jobs and promotions. Not too difficult to buy a nice house and even put a full-sized pool in the backyard so that you and the kids could have a swim. Not at all like that now.
