I. If the language is degraded then intent is insane. 2. If such things as education, health, the arts and religion are labeled by the dominant philosophy of the day to be "regressive" and "stagnant" (Baumol) then you have cut off the development, the safety, the soul, and the transcendant from the society .When there is no tomorrow to dream about then today is simply empty. It doesn't matter which "materialism" it is, the pursuit of the basics rather than the psycho-physical pursuit of the higher values, and the exploration of one's inner life, is a brutish and empty life. Society's goals should make that possible for all. When the goals are brutish and short then the lives are the same. Ed, I am compiling a list of the linguistic sins propogated on the public by an economic language that degrades the inner life of humanity while selling creative greed like a used car salesman. Have you heard the Hallelujah  Chorus to sell cereal and seen Martin Luther King's "I have a dream speech" selling a soft ware company? We are in the hands of the immature and the ignorant and we have been placed there by experts who push the market as the supreme entertainment and gambling with the future of our children and health as a noble activity. I have to work and am dealing with an onset of Bell's Palsy and have spent several days in the hospital dealing with the worship of money that this society practices. We have lost our souls. (Context, Content, Process.) (Perception, Logic, Intuition.) Golden triads that we ignore while following Poor Intellectual Productivity caused by a Structural Incompetancy Virus that: "no matter what talent a person has, no matter what intelligent action a  person might bring to a problematic situation, no matter what insights could be applied to resolving crises, the individual is precluded from exercising those talents and insights by virtue of the organizational structure in which the individual is embedded." Got to go back to work since the structure I am embedded in says that with no retirement and no salary I must work no matter what the pain. But I did en.joy your current insight. You're right and that is what value is all about. Children and the Future of real work, not that garbage from the last 300 hundred years that we bought for a cup of soup. The cruelist joke was that they claimed it would bring pleasure. They were bankrupt themselves. Read about their lives. Their pleasure?   What a joke. They got rid of  the excess people by conquest and murder in wars.    And what were those lap dogs for in one bath a month Europe? The Golden Age was more Guilt than Gold.    That is about as polite as I can put it.  If the truth about the past and the search for truth and beauty is too much then the society will perish and someone else will pick up the stick.   But it sure as hell isn't about money as worth.
