Is the Dalai Lama perhaps
at least a minimally acceptable "example" of living
at least fairly well?

I have recently read that one of his favorite possessions is
a gold Patek Philippe wristwatch which Franklin Roosevelt
gave him.

I too want to "own less" and be more -- in that kind of way....

(Note: I'm not necessarily saying the Dalai Lama should
have his gold Patek watch taken away from him. I am saying
that anyone who would deprive me of the things I enjoy
or even try to make me ashamed about my interests
in the name of any kind of higher values *should* first
detour to take the Dalai Lama's watch away from him.)

Now let us praise famous men!
