Hi Cordell:
I'm not qualified to be a legislator but, I think the whole corporate idea
went off the rails when Rockefeller set up his "parent" corporation in a
"offshore" state (circa 1860?) to avoid the taxes and regulations of the
state in which his corporation was engaged.
I think a well thought out "Corporate Emancipation Act " would do a great
deal to level the playing field.
I think corporations and capitalism is great. I also think my children are
great. What they have in common is that both need, needed, to be civilised.
As an aside, are you aware that 70% of trade between canada and the US is
"internal? That is, (contract) trade between the subsidiaries of ther same
company? That means that it bypasses the very market system that is
supposed to regulate and enhance the competative behavoiur and keep the
companies in check.
Another aside. You don't put a CEO in charge of a country any more than you
would put Mother Theresa in Charge of Microsoft. To run a country you need
"StatesmEn"
Regards
Ed G
