Quite obviously, the all (UN-)wise and all (UN-)knowing old Motor Mouth
from Bath has been reading the tea-leaves, yet again. However this time
his vitriolic, anti-working class rantings have gone too far!

normally I simply delete any and all posts from that source as the author
is usually full of pretentious English ' middle class' ignorance and
indifference...a la ' Baroness' TINA (There Is No Alternative - to mass
working class sackings, un-employment and penury) Thatcher. However,
intrigued by the words "Sydney burns", I made the mistake of reading yet
another heap of garbage, including the following

 >The forest fires are also worse this time because car-loads of young men
 >from the inner parts of Sydney are driving to the suburbs and starting
 >additional fires themselves ("most, if not all", according to a police
 >spokesman on BBC radio)....

 >The young men are welfare recipients. Clearly, they have little sense of
 >community. Australia has been immensely prosperous in the last few years
 >and has the most generous welfare system in the world.

 >I wonder whether there's a connection somewhere?

I wonder whether there`s a connection somewhere between this latest load of
puerile drivel and "a morning pot of tea"?

With some 40 then 60 and now 100 separate fire outbreaks spreading across
some 600kilometres over the past week, IF...SOME of the fires WERE started
deliberately by "...car-loads of young men from the inner parts of Sydney
(who are ALL?) welfare recipients (and) clearly ...have little sense of
community", the question then surely becomes "What caused such violent,
anti-social behaviour and alienation in these particular young men?

Why didn`t "The Community" care enough about these and the hundreds of
thousands of other young people across Australia (The Lucky Country) and
simply throw them - like many of their older fellow-Australians - on the
scrapheap of involuntary redundancy, un-employment, under-employment or
casualised, low-waged McJobs, just as they are starting out in
life? Clearly the politically and economically dominant elites of The
Community (our ' leading' businessmen/employers, politicians and senior
public service policy wonks) have little sense of 'community'!

To assert that..."Australia has been immensely prosperous in the last few
years and has the most generous welfare system in the world" further
exposes the gross ignorance of the author. The "re-structuring" of
virtually every facet of Australian industry and the "privatisation"
(theft) of OUR Common-wealth public assets by local and foreign
'entrepreneurs', 'leading businessmen' and other anti-social corporate
criminals (our national airline - Qantas, the Common-wealth Bank,
Common-wealth Serum Laboratories and thousands of other Federal, State and
Local Government public assets and services), has resulted in an 'official'
un-employmment rate of 6 - 7% ..'among the best in the OECD'. The REAL or
actual rate is more like 20%, with some 2 - 3 million Australian citizens
now being forced to endure socio-economic marginalisation at or below the
official poverty level, whilst those of the so-called 'upper-middle' and
'Upper Class' CONTINUE to grow "immensely prosperous".
