Maybe.

But the Execs don't need 'em (the discounts, that is).  They
have expense accounts.

Slightly different topic: When I worked for IBM, there was a 
company policy about not drinking alcoholic beverages on
work time.  (This was in the U.S.A. -- IBM Europe was
more sensible about this.)

Anyway, even before I worked there -- when the hiring
manager took me to lunch during my employment
interview, I always made a point of having one class
of red wine amidst the soft drinks at off-site
lunches.  That was back before the days of designer
bottled water; I didn't do it to be offensive, but
rather so as not to have to take offense.
