I did not pay much attention to the claim that Ollie's boys were smuggling drugs into the US until I started noticing e-mails from Evangelical Christians serving as missionaries in Nicaragua and surrounding areas making such statements. That was a number of years ago when e-mail was text based only. I figured that they certainly would not have had any axe to grind.
Later, I ran into a state legislator who was tied up in the whole mess and even had a picture of himself with a machine gun hunched next to a DC-3 in the country. That is when I heard rumors about Adolph Coors and Ruth Fertel of Ruth Chris Steakhouse fame were heavily involved in the financing of the clandestine US effort. > I know that had there not been Iran Contra there would have been no drugs in Los >Angeles, would there?
