But that is OK, it will just create more jobs trying to find the solution to creating fresh water from the seas. That is the way Western thinking works. If the point is to create jobs then making a mess and cleaning it up is an exercise in the creation of jobs and the future of work. They call it "development" and "progress" you go figure.
[snip] It is called the GROSS national product, after all! Grrrossss! Real life story: Army guy quits after 19 years (1 year short of pension!) and joins on as data center manager of bank I work at. VP tells him to do stupid things (or at least things he things don't contribute to getting the job done). Data Center Manager to VP: "You tell me to dig a hole, I dig a hole. You tell me to fill it up again, I fill it up again. Anything you want, SIR!" [clicks heels here] Shortly thereafter data center manager got a lateral job reassignment -- I called it a remotion -- to 3rd Shift manager (that's midnite to 8am). This is a true story. -- GNP arithmetic works with "absolute values": Example: normally, 1 + (-1) = 0. But in GNP: abs(1) + abs(-1) = 2. Absolute value is where you remove the "direction" and just keep track of the displacement. Cheers! \brad mccormick -- Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works....
