Chris,

You may be interested in the below which I sent to another FWer off list.
==============

In yesterday's New York Times there was a long and interesting article on
another nation that has no state. Kurdistan.

One excerpt.

A Kurdish human rights person said "Every Kurd wants independence but
people must also take stock of the world. We should learn from history, "
he said. " If Palestinians accepted the division of Palestine in 1948, they
would be a well established state and the lives of thousands and thousands
of Palestinians would have been saved, along with their properties and
resources."

Many ironies in history.

Great Freudian typo ;-)

... and in turn, Americans dislike other countries because they are
ignorant (or rather: disinformed) about them. That's why Fagan (et al.)'s
campaign against Switzerland was so successful, to name an example.

Gee, that evil UN did that, huh. On behalf of whom, if I may ask?
(Yah, on behalf of ze evil Brits who kicked and dragged ze poor
zionists to Palestine against zeir vill.) Funny I thought
the borders on the ground look different today than that evil UN
settlement in 48. Something like 100% seized...

Towards a sustainable balance,
Chris
