You are absolutely right, George: that's what's causing it. I should pay
better attention to what I'm doing, but I'm so conditioned to think of
events that break things as happening on the monitor.
Hmm. Odd. Perhaps it has something to do with some of FVWM's keyboard
shortcuts being assigned to keys on the numeric keypad?

Within a few minutes, are you turning your numlock key on? When numlock
is on all normal window behavior goes out the window... i'm not sure why
and I haven't really looked in to it because I never use my number keypad.
Just an idea...

Hello, all. Having given up on KDE for its sluggishness, I've
installed FVWM-Crystal (v3.0.3 as installed from the Ubuntu
repositories) on my Ubuntu Edgy box. So far I am very impressed with
its look and performance, but I've run into an odd problem. I've
"Googled" it, but I just can't find much on the subject.
I'm finding that within a few minutes of starting any given
FVWM-Crystal session, the desktop's focus model appears to change
without any action on my part. I prefer the "MS Windows" style model
(where clicking on any part of a window raises & focuses it), and
that's how things start out -- but soon windows will only rise when I
click in the window's titlebar. And even then the window doesn't
appear to gain full focus: the titlebar remains in its "inactive"
coloration; and though I can click on elements within the window and
they will respond, I can't _type_ anything.
I'm at a complete loss as to what is going on. Sessions start
perfectly and run as they should for a few minutes. Without warning
and without any kind of pattern I can discern, the focus wackiness
begins.
The "FVWM-Crystal" and "FVWM-Crystal with raise" focus policies appear
to work as advertised.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
