I think that I'm definitely missing some libs or something... for example
if I do "habak test.png" it says:
File 'test.png' is not an image
If i do "fvwm-root test.png" it successfully sets it as the background.
Then once the background is set, transparency is not quite working right, heres a snip it
from the #fvwm-crystal IRC chan that i mentioned:
17:02 < gnychis> theBlackDragon: alright so transparency isn't quite working
right... if i open up a rxvt the window is *completely*
transparent and does not do any shading at all so the text is
very hard to read... doesn't dim it or anything, what is
typically responsible for this?
I'd greatly appreciate any help...
Thanks!

however with fvwm-crystal it does not look right, i can't get a
background (it is always black), and menus are always grey.
Anyone have any ideas? I am using fvwm-crystal-3.0.4 fvwm-2.5.19 and
ati-drivers-8.32.5
Here fvwm-2.5.18-r1, fvwm-crystal-3.0.4, xorg-x11-7.1,
nvidia-drivers-1.0.9746, all is working correctly. My configuration is
at http://thenautilus.dyndns.org/fvwm-crystal/ if you want to look at
it, but it's just a minor modification of the standard one.
Are you sure you have all the programs tha fvwm-crystal invokes? With
the modularization of xorg, some programs are not installed by default.
Look at the output on the console, or redirect the fvwm-crystal
invocation to a file:
fvwm-crystal > /tmp/crystal.log 2>&1
and look at it, you might find some "no such file or directory" there.
